Abstract

Six different breed bulls such as Sanhe Cattle(SH),Qinchuan cattle(QC),Angus cattle(A),Shorthorn cattle(ST),Simmental cattle(SM) and Charolais cattle(C) were crossbred with Xiangxi cattle in this experiment. The data of body mass, average daily gain, body size of their F1 progeny(each group,n=10) were collected and analyzed. The body mass, average daily gain, body length and heart girth of crossbred progeny were better than those of Xiangxi cattle(P0.05).The fastest growth stage of the F1 progeny was the time from 6-12 months, and it all grew over 1 kg/d.As for the body height and cannon circumference, there was no difference existed between the crossbred progeny and Xiangxi cattle(P0.05).Foreign breed of Simmental(SM) and Charolais(C) bulls were suitable male parents of Xiangxi cattle for economical hybridization, and the domestic breed of Qinchuan bull was suitable male parent of Xiangxi cattle for economical hybridization. The gold time of sell the F1 crossbred progeny was over twelve months old age.
