Abstract

This article calculates the ecological footprint, the ecological capacity, the ecological footprint diversity index and development ability of the regions around Qinghai Lake between 2000 and 2008 base on the ecological footprint model. And to compare with Qinghai province. The result shows that the per capita ecological footprint has the tendency of unceasing growth,is far greater than the per capita ecological capacity, the resources expense has surpassed the resources reproductive property seriously ecological deficit appeared the ecological footprint of GDP every ten thousand yuan is steady decline.but the ecological footprint development ability is insufficient. The four counties differ greatly in the ecological footprint and the ecological capacity. In view of the current situation, this paper proposes some suggestions to realize sustainable development of the regions around Qinghai Lake, including developing the circular economy, adjusting the industrial structure,to promote urbanization and so on.
