Return to Anthropocentrism and Construction of Eco-socialism

As an important exponent of Ecological Marxism in 1990s,David Pepper criticized the postmodernism inclination in Ecocentrism from the standpoint of Modernism and put forward his main ideal of reforming Ecocentrism with Marxism and realizing the alliance of red-green.As for the ecological issues in capitalist society,he holds the view that we should explore the roots of ecological crisis in capitalism itself,endeavor to integrate the way out of the ecological crisis with the future of Socialism.Basing on above opinions,Pepper established his eco-socialism charactered by anthropocentrism and with social justice as its standing point.Pepper's ideas not only advance ecological Marxism to a definite new stage,but also offer us much enlightenment in solving the ecological crisis and achieving sustainable development.
