Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of the hand ProTaper nickel-titanium(NiTi)files in root canal preparation.Method:280 Patients were divided into two group,PT group,300 root canals in 140 Patients were prepared using the hand ProTaper NiTi files and the crown-Down technique;KH group,296 root canals in another 140 patients were prepared using ISO standard hand K-files、H-files and the standard-ized technique.Observe the reaction of post-preparation、post-obturation and the effect of obturation.Result:91.87% of the canals in PT group were obturated as compared with 88.51% in KH group, there were no sig-nificant difference(p0.05).The incidences of post-preparation pain were 4.29% in PT group while 11.43% in KH group. The incidences of post-obturation pain were 2.14% in PT group while 8.57% in KH group. The differences were significant(p0.05).Conclusion:The reaction of the hand ProTaper NiTi rotary technique during and after root canal therapy is slight.
