Analysis of Main Stream Water Quality in Three Gorges Reservoir from the Dam Site Up to Wanzhou

This paper studies the main stream water quality of the Three Gorges Reservoir from the dam site up to Wanzhou.The results show that the overall situation of water quality in the studied zone is good.At Tuokou and Guandukou sections , the water quality is classified as Class Ⅲ or lower in over 80%of a year , and that classified as Class Ⅱ or lower increases year by year , indicating that the water quality is being improved within this zone.The discharge of solid wastes is decreased year by year.Domestic wastewater shows a more significant impact than industrial wastewater.The total wastewater discharge shows no considerable change from 2006through 2009.COD and NH3-N in domestic wastewater slightly decreases year by year.The portion of major pollutants in boat wastewater also decreases.Pollution sources have been effectively controlled.
