Abstract

Objective: To detect anti tumor activity of the recombinant human soluble vascular endothelial growth inhibitor (VEGI). Methods: The recombinant human soluble VEGI was tested for its inhibition on proliferation of the established human umbilical vein endothelial cells (ECV304) and new born bovine aortic endothelial cells(BAEC).Mice bearing transplanted S180 sarcoma and mice with ascites S180 were treated with the recombinant human soluble VEGI. Results: The recombinant human soluble VEGI showed markedly inhibitory effect on the proliferation of endothelial cells and the growth of S180 sarcoma. It also prolonged the life time of mice with ascites S180. Conclusion: The recombinant human soluble VEGI may be applied for cancer therapy by anti angiogenesis. [
