Role of Metonymy and Metaphor Reflected in Denominal Verbs

Abstract

Metonymy and metaphor are important theories in cognitive linguistics.In cognitive linguistics,metonymy and metaphor are ways of thinking,which can be expressed in language.Denominal verbs are innovation of language expressions.By the study of metonymy and metaphor of speech act in denomianl verbs,we can see that the nature of denominal verbs is metonymy and metaphor.
