Abstract

Poly (methyl methacrylate)/montmorillonite (MMT) PMMA/MMT nanocomposites were synthesized by in situ polymerizations,in which the montmorillonite were modified by CH3(CH2 )15(CH3 )3N+3Br.The structure of the nanocomposite was investigated by XRD,UV-vis spectrophotometer,DMTA etc.The results show that exfoliate structures of montmorillonite exist in the PMMA/MMT nanocomposites.Thermal decomposition temperature and glass transition temperature of PMMA/MMT nanocomposites have been improved at lower MMT contents.
