Abstract
OBJECTIVE To isolate and identify the endophytic fungi in roots of Euphorbia nematocypha Hand.-Mazz.and detect the antibacterial activity of these strains.METHODS Endophytes were isolated by issue-culture method and identified by spot-planting method;three pathogenic bacteria related to human diseases were used as indicators to do the microbial inhibition experiment.RESULTS 41 strains of endophytic fungi were isolated and they were morphologically identified belonging to 15 genera,6 families,4 orders and 1 class;9 strains of 41 showed the steady antibacterial activity, and expressed evident inhibition activity against Escherichia coli.CONCLUSION The Euphorbia nematocypha Hand.-Mazz.containing abundant endophytic fungi, whose secondary metabolites have antibacterial activities, could be a new resource to screen active substance with antibacterial activity.
