The Comparison and Reflection of Basic Education Curriculum Reform in Mainland China, Hongkong and Taiwan

Abstract

Turning into 21century,basic education curriculum reform in Mainland China,Hong kong and Taiwan present some similarities and differences on reform background,framework,content,feature,curriculum leadership,and implementing strategy and effect,and exist common nonpluses and problems.Comparing and analysing these similarities and differences has important meaning for deepening curriculum reform of Mainland China,Hongkong and Taiwan.Curriculum reform is a long-term process of change,and the continued support of the teachers is the basic premise of the curriculum reform;there are several aspects to guarantee the curriculum reform,such as reconstructing teachers’working hours,promoting the integration between professional development of teachers and curriculum development and management and establishing aprofessional working environment of teachers in curriculum reform.Moderatecurriculum integration is an important issue of curriculum reform.Constantly updating and improving the syllabus and standards is the inevitable requirement of the curriculum reform.
