Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of noninvasive positive pressure ventilation for the treatment of acute pulmonary edema (APE). Mothods 24 patients with acute pulmonary edema(cardiogenic and non-cardiogenic) were treated with noninvasive positive pressure ventilation in addition to conventional treatment. Before and after ventilatory support, the changes of clinical symptoms and arterial blood gas (PH PaO2 PaCO2 SaO2), include (HR RR MAP) were measured. Results The clinical symptoms of all patients had been improved significantly after noninvasive positive pressure ventilation. All-so the clinicial parmenters showed a statical differencess (P0.05). Conclusions The noninvasive positive pressure ventilation could improve symptoms and hypoxemia in patients with acute pulmonary edema. It is a kind fo safe and effective.
