Abstract

Objective To explore the relation between Hypersensitivity C-Reactive protein and microvasular disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods Sixty-six cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus were divided into two groups(34 with microvascular disease and 32 cases with DM group alone).Hypersensitivity C-Reactive Protein(Hs-CRP),blood pressure(BP),body mass index(BMI),urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER),triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C),low density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS) were measured, and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) were calculated. All data were presented as mean±SEM(x±s) and the difference of means use t test, correlated causal relation uses linear correlation analysis.Results(1) Hs-CRP was significantly increased in DM group as compared with control levels.Hs-CRP was significantly increased in DM with microvascular disease as compared with that in DM group(P0.01).(2) Univariate analysis implied that Hs-CRP level in diabetes mellitus was positively related with cause of disease, high blood pressure,BMI,UAE,TG,FINS(P0.01).Hs-CRP was negatively correlated with ISI(P0.02).But there was no relationship between serum Hs-CRP and age、FPG、TC(P0.05).Conclusion Increase in Hs-CRP is closely correlated with microvascular disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus, suggesting that Hs-CRP play an important role in risk prediction of the type 2 DM patients with microvascular disease.
