Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of MMP2,MMP9 in HepG2 cells and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) tissues and compare their specificity to the invasion and metastasis of HCC.Methods HepG2 cells and 38 specimens of HCC tissues were assessed by immunocytochemistry and immunohistochemistry(ABC method). Results The expression of MMP9 was higher than that of MMP2 in HepG2 cell.MMP2 and MMP9 both expressed in the HCC tissues while the positive rate of MMP9(84.2%,32/38) and the positive rate of MMP2(52.6%,20/38) had significant differences(P0.05).Conclusion There is a good consistency in HepG2 cells and HCC tissues for MMP2,MMP9 expression, and the higher expression of MMP9 may show us that it has a closer relationship to the invasion and metastasis of HCC.
