Abstract

After presenting the various interpretations of the inscriptions on the famous bronze Qianpan, the meaning of the passage is clarified but not entirely explained. In this article the author examines a number of terms and characters in the inscription, and presents an individual interpretation of the inscription in its entirety. The author also discusses the meaning of a related inscription on the famous bronze Xing bell.
