Abstract
Zhuliangyou 30,derived from Zhu 1S,a TGMS line with low critical temperature and wide compatibility, and Tanzao 30,a new early cropping indica rice cultivar with high yield,is a new early cropping two-line hybrid rice combination developed by the Xiangtan Agricultural Research Institute. It shows early maturity, high yielding ability, strong disease and stress resistances and wide adaptability. It was approved for commercialization by the Hunan Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in February,2006 and by the National Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in August,2007,respectively.The breeding procedures of the hybrid and its male parent, the major characteristics and technical points for cultivation and seed production of the hybrid were introduced in the paper.
