Breeding and Application of New Two-line Early Indica Hybrid Rice Combination Zhuliangyou 4024 with High and Stable Yield

Zhuliangyou 4024,derived from Zhu 1 S,a dual-purpose genic male sterile line with low critical temperature and wide compatibility introduced from Zhuzhou Agricultural Research Institute,and 4204,an early rice cultivar with good plant type,high combining ability,strong stress resistance and fine grain quality,is a new two-line early hybrid rice combination developed by the Institute of Rice Science,Hunan Agricultural University.It is characteristic of high and stable yield,suitable maturity and wide adaptability in Yangtze River Valley.In March and May,2009,it was registered and released to commercial production by the Hunan Provincial and the National Crop Variety Appraisal Committees,respectively.
