Abstract
[Objective] The aim of the research was to discuss the genetic diversity of sugarcane cultivars. [Method] Genomic DNA of 20 main sugarcane cultivars in Guangxi were analyzed by using 15 pairs of polymorphic SSR primers to study the genetic relationship among modem sugarcane cultivars and the genetic distance among each cultivar. [Result] Genomic DNA of 20 sugarcane cultivars were amplified by using 15 pairs of polymorphic SSR primers and 185 bands were obtained. 12.33 bands were amplified by each primer on average and the polymorphic bands occupied 87.6% . The genetic similarity coefficient among the tested sugarcane cultivars was 0.554 - 0.826,with the average of 0.679. According to the results of UPGMA clustering analysis, 20 tested sugarcane cultivars could be divided into 2 groups. [Conclusion] Twenty tested sugarcane cultivars had abundant genetic polymorphism. SSR marker could better reveal the genetic difference and genetic relationship among the tested sugarcane cultivars.
