An Analysis of the Prevalence of Anxiety and Related Factors in Students of Vocational College

Abstract

Objective:To explore the prevalence of anxiety and it's related factors in students of vocational college.Methods:676 students of vocational college were assessed with self-rating anxiety scale and self-developed factor questionnaire by the way of stratified cluster sampling.Results:The prevalence of anxiety in students of vocational college was 22.49%.Their SAS mean scores were significantly higher than those of Chinese norm.There were no significant differences in prevalence of anxiety between males and females,among different grades,even between urban and rural students.The family financial situation,physical and psychological harm,interpersonal relations,educational mode,pressure of employment,as well as Social adaptability affected the happening of anxiety,The relative risk ratio of these factors respectively were 2.485,2.406,1.964,1.808,1.590,1.481.Conclusion:The prevalence of anxiety in students of vocational college is relatively higher,and it is related with multiple factors.
