Abstract

The study of the origin, core and element of landscape architecture in China based on the review of education development is the focus of this paper. That the Zao Yuan Zu(造园组) established in 1951 is the root of the discipline of Chinese landscape architecture is demonstrated, and the principle of term translation of landscape architecture is analyzed and discussed. It is pointed out that the core of the subject is space planning and design and that the object of study is scenery. In conclusion, it is proposed that the Chinese study system should be established by the Chinese people on their own land.
