Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression and significances of Livin and Smac in colorectal carcinomar and adjacent tissue. Methods: The expression of Livin and Smac proteins were detected by immunohistochemistry in 60 samples of colorectal carcinoma, and its adjacent tissue. Results: The positive rate of livin in cancerous tissue (80%) was higher than that in the adjacent tissue (3.3%). The over expression of livin was correlated to the cancer invasive depth, lymph node metastasis and the clinical stage; the lower expression of Smac was correlated to the cancer differentiation, lymph node metastasis and the clinical stage. Conclusion:There was a negative relationship between livin and smac which were related to the development and progression of colorectal carcinoma.
