Abstract
Suppression subtractive hybridization(SSH) is a technique of high efficiency for isolation differential expressed genes at transcriptional level, which is based on the use of subtractive hybridization in combination with suppression PCR.Because of its characteristics of high specifi-city,low false positive rate, simple operation and high efficiency,SSH is widely used to study differential gene expression in two differential conditions, playing an important role in cloning andidentifying gene expression difference. The principle and use of SSH technique in the aspects of mechanism of development-related gene regulation, molecule mechanism of disease, mechanism of drug action, selection of fine breed and environmental pollutant biodegradation were analyzed in this review.
