Abstract

The large-scale heavy rain process on May 9-10,2009 occurred in the middle and northern part of Shandong province was analyzed comprehensively by using conventional weather chart, satellite image, the data observed by regional automatic weather station,CINRAD data Etc.The results showed: The heavy rain in Shandong was due to the stability of large-scale circulation and the stability of mesoscale low-level shear in south part of North China and adequate water transported by convergence of strong winds of Southwest jet at low-altitude.The water of heavy rain was mainly from theSouth China Sea;Surface cold front launched the mechanism of release of unstable enegy;Coupling level jets enhanced the development of convection;long duration was a major cause of the formation of heavy rain.
