IGCC and novel type industrialization of coal power

Abstract

This integral gasification combined cycle (IGCC) generation technology proves now one of the high and up-to-date generation technology in the world. The process of development of the IGCC technology abroad is reviewed first and then the support available for such kind of demonstration project and also the demonstration plan itself are also recommended. The technical features, the development trend and the application prospects of the present novel type industrialization of the coal power and the IGCC generation have also been described, pointing out that if the path of the modern type industrialization is to be followed IGCC technology distinguished with such features as high efficiency, water saving, excellent environment, the usage of waste products as new resources and the multi-cogeneration will sooner or later become very important to us. Based upon the multi-cogeneration the cycling capability of the generating units can be improved. The multi-cogeneration and the energy diversification can strengthen the energy supply safety of our country. If the carbon capture and recovery is to be included in the environment cost IGCC will be the most economical selection when the fossil fuel is planned to be used to produce electricity.
