Abstract
Objective To study the clinical characteristics of subacute combined with degeneration. Methods The clinical manifestations of 13 cases with subacate combined with degeneration were analysed. Results Parasthesias of the limbs and diminished vibration and position sensations were the most common symptoms and signs; gastric and intestinal disease were a main cause of subacute combined with degeneration; some patients were caused by vitamin B12 deficiency, but not all; the examinations of electromyography(EMG) was available to diagnose early; magnetic resonance imaging showed compatible evidence of demyelination changes in the spinal cords and helped to evaluate prevention. Conclusion The examinations of electromyography and magnetic resonance imaging could play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of subacute combined with degeneration.
