Abstract

Two hundred ROSS broilers at age of 21 days were designed to five treatment groups in this experiment, including Group 1 and 2(positive and negative treatments),and Group 3 to 5 with feed additive of commercial non-starch polysaccharide(NSP) enzymes each on base of negative group diet. All broilers were fed 21 days and were killed. The intestine and digesta were sampled for the measurement of digestive enzymes, including amylase, protease and lipase. The results showed that the amylase and protease activities of duodenum, jejunum or both digesta for Group 2 broilers were lower(P≤ 0.05) than those of Group 1.The amylase and protease activities of duodenum and duodenum digesta for Group 3 were higher than those of Group 2,and were similar with Group 1(P0.05).The amylase, protease and lipase activities of jejunum digesta for Group 3 were highest among all groups. The amylase and protease activities in duodenum and duodenum digesta for Group 4 and 5 were no significance(P0.05),and were lower than those of Group 3.There were no significance between Group 3 and 4 for protease activities in jejunum, and were higher than those of Group 5.These findings suggested the commercial NSP enzyme products should be analyzed before selecting for the improvement of broiler growth performance.
