Abstract

Two hundred ROSS broilers of 21 days were designed to five treatment groups in this experiment, including Group 1 and 2(positive and negative treatments),and Group 3 to 5 with feed additive of commercial non-starch polysaccharide(NSP) enzymes each based on of negative group diet. All broilers were fed 35 days and were killed. The intestine and digesta were sampled for the measurement of digestive enzymes, including amylase, protease and lipase. The results showed that the amylase and protease activities of duodenum, jejunum or both digesta for Group 2(negative treatment) broilers were lower(P 0.05) than those of Group 1(positive treatment). The amylase and protease activities of duodenum and duodenum digesta for Group 3 were higher than those of Group 2,and were of no difference compared with Group 1.The amylase, protease and lipase activities of jejunum digesta for Group 3 were higher than those of other four groups. There were no significant difference(P 0.05) between Group 4 and 5 for all digestive enzymes in jejunum and jejunum digesta. These findings suggested the addition of commercial NSP enzymes in broiler diets cannot be applied with the recommended dose because of the diversity of NSP enzyme species and(or) enzyme activities and the autivity of NSP enzyme its should be measured so as to apply it reasonably and effectively.
