The Effect of the Expressions of MMP-2,MMP-9 on MVD(microvessel density) and Metastasis in Gastric Adenocarcinoma

Abstract

Objective To study the effect of the expressions of MMP-2,MMP-9 on MVD(microvessel density) and Metastasis in Gastric Adenocarcinoma.Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect MVD and the expressions of MMP2,MMP-9 in 87 advanced gastric adenocarcinoma.Results The positive expression rates of MMP2 and MMP-9 in gastric adenocarcinomas were 59.8%(52/87) and 41.4%(36/87) respectively.The positive expressions of MMP2 and MMP-9 were closely related to lymph node metastasis and intratumor MVD.The expression of MMP-2 was closely correlated with pathological staging.Conclusion The overexpression of MMP2,MMP-9 are strongly related to the invasion and metastasis of gastric adenocarcinoma.They might be valuable markers in diagnosis of the tumor metastasis.
