Investigation on Safety and Hygiene of Rural Drinking Water in Guiyang County

Objective To investigate the safety and hygienic status of rural drinking water in Guiyang County,to analyze the influencing factors of hygienic quality of drinking water based on the existing problems,and to provide the scientific evidence for water resource departments to better implement rural drinking water safety projects.Methods The representative water source in each town,source water,produced water,pipe water from rural drinking water safety projects were selected and monitored.The water quality assessment was conducted according to the national standard.Results The qualified rate of rural water source was 34.38%(55/160),and those of produced water and pipe water were both 8.33%(4/48).Conclusions Management should be strengthened for concerned departments in Guiyang County,which are suffering from unsafe source and quality of rural water,high micro-pollution in drinking water,exceeding heavy metal and fluoride in water source nearby mining area,and less-developed hygienic status of rural drinking water.
