Abstract
Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of the Canalith repositioning maneuver for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV). Methods The Epley maneuver,Semont maneuver and Barbecue rotation were applied to 32 case of BPPV. Results After treatment of manipulative reduction,positional vertigo disappeared completely in 27 cases(84.4%),and in 3(9.4%) the therapy was effective. In 2 cases(6.3%) the therapy had no effect,but after receiving physical therapy,they were cured. Conclusions For benign paroxysmal positional vertigo,the Canalith repositioning maneuver is recommended,and the benefits of physical therapy are demonstrated.
