A Stylistic Analysis on "A Rose for Emily

Abstract

Based on the stylistic theory, the essay gives an analysis on“A Rose for Emily”. This novel uses unique narrative point of view, structure-building, symbolism and metaphor to express emotion and reveal man’s inner world and finally helps to extent the novel's aesthetic dimension. All these fully show Faulkner's attention to the combination of form and content in novel creation, and thus make the novel profoundly thematic.
