A Textual Research into the Frontier Pioneering in the West in Qin and Han Dynasties

Considering politic government and military defense,both Qin and Han Dynasties pioneered the western frontier in large scales.Due to the different natural environments,ethnic tribes,living styles,cultures and custom,the governments of the two Dynasties took the corresponding measures.In the northwest,they mainly took military actions.But in the southwest,they just governed in accordance with the local people's conventions.The pioneering in the west in this period widened the territory of China and enlarged this big family,which laid the foundation of the territory of modern China.
