Clinical analysis of enalapril combined with carvedilo on congestive heart failure in elderly patients

Abstract
Objective To investigate therapeutic effect of enalapril combined with carvedilo on congestive heart failure in elderly patient. Methods Eighty five elderly patients with congestive heart failure were chosen in the period from January 2009 to May 2012 in our hospital and randomly divided into two groups including control group (43 patients) with enalapril treatment and experimental group (42 patients) with carvedilo treatment on the basis of control group treatment; and the total effective rate, before and after treatment heart function classification, heart rate and echocardiography index were compared. Results The total effective rate of experimental group after treatment were significantly better than that of control group (P 0.05). After treatment the improving degree of heart function classification and heart rate of experimental group were significantly better than that of control group (P 0.05). And after treatment the improving degree of echocardiography index of experimental group were significantly better than that of control group (P 0.05). And there was no significant difference of both groups in the adverse effects (P 0.05). Conclusion Enalapril combined with carvedilo on congestive heart failure in elderly patient can effectively improve the heart function and clinical symptoms, and has few adverse effects.
