Abstract
Objective To analyze and research whether or not there are any differences between RhD-negative and RhD-positive blood donors in the blood unqualified items. Methods A total of 340,995 serum samples were collected from unpaid blood donors in Changsha Blood Center from January, 2007 to December, 2009. The blood group identification was made and the blood-borne infectious diseases of these samples were detected. Results There was no statistically significant difference between RhD-negative and RhD-positive blood donors in ALT, HBs-Ag, Anti-HCV, Anti-HIV and Anti-TP detected results. Conclusions RhD-negative blood donors, as a rare blood group, do not seem to differ from ordinary people in the above five indicators of blood transmitted diseases. It will not affect the clinical RhD-negative blood supply.
