Clinical distribution and drug resistance analysis of 161 strain Acinetobacter baumannii in respiratory tract

Objective To investigate the clinical distribution and the drug resistance to various antibacterials of Acinetobacter baumannii from sputum specimen,and provide reference for the clinical rational therapy.Methods The 161 strain Acinetobacter baumaniis were separated from sputum specimen of patients in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from January to December in 2011,and the data were analyzed by WHONET 5.4 software.Results Among the 161 specimens of Acinetobacter baumannii,the dominant clinical distribution was intensive care unit(47.83%)followed by medical department(24.23%)and surgery department(13.04%).The drug resistance rate of Acinetobacter baumanii to cefoperazone/sulbactam was the lowest(6.21%),then was the imipenem/cilastatin(46.58%)and meropenem(47.83%).The drug resistance rates of Acinetobacter baumanii to piperacilli,piperacilli/tazobactam,ceftazidime,atreonam,gentamycin,amikacin,ciprofloxacin,levofloxacin,trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole and cefepime were all above 50%.Conclusion Acinetobacter baumanii mainly distributes intensive care units,and the drug resistance rates of them show the up tendency,so reasonable application of antibiotic should be enhanced in clinic in order to prevent the increasing of drug resistance rate of Acinetobacter baumannii.
