Abstract
It is meaningful to study Wen Xin Diao Long in terms of history of literature.First,Liu Xie was used to writing history.Shi Xu may be regarded as a terse,forceful and concise history of literature to a certain extent.We can say that Liu Xie had written a history of literature objectively which lasted from Pre-Qin to Song of Southern Dynasty by reading Shi Xu and other books.Second,it is a remarkable characteristic to write about the kings vigorously in literature writing of all previous dynasties,which was Liu Xie's literary ideal.Third,literary development of ten generations has advantages and disadvantages in the perspective of appreciation.Liu Xie agreed that literature of Zhou Dynasty and that beforehand were the peaks,which the descendants were unable to attain.
