Abstract
Objective To explore the expressions of E-cadherin and nm23-H1 in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) their relationship with invasion and metastasis of HCC. Methods Immunohistochemical S-P technique was used to detect the expressions of E-cadherin and nm23i-H1 in primary tumor tissues from 50 cases with HCC and analyze their relationship with invasion and metastasis of HCC. Results In 50 cases, the expressions of E-cadherin and nm23-H1 in HCC closely related with Edmondson grade and metastasis potential of HCC but had none correlation with size of tumor, sex and age of cases, with high cooperativeness upon expressions of E-cadherin and nm23-H1. Conclusions Expressions of E-cadherin and nm23-H1 may reflect potential of invasion and metastasis of HCC. Furthermore, combined detection of expressions of E-cadherin and nm23-H1 in tissues of HCC may more accurately judge the malignancy degree and biological behavior of HCC.
