Abstract
The water quality of 18 drinking water sources in villages and towns was analyzed and evaluated by comprehensive pollution index method to know the pollution situation of drinking water sources in Chongqing.The results showed that total nitrogen and fecal coliform bacteria population were main contaminants in reservoirs,and its total nitrogen content was 0.438~2.368mg/L which was beyond the lowest limited value of water eutrophication.The water quality in reservoirs was mainly polluted by overuse of fertilizers and pesticides,and aquatic culture.The water quality in rivers was polluted by multiple contaminants.The water quality in reservoirs was better than that in rivers overall.The countermeasures to control contamination of drinking water sources were put forward at the same time.
