Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of 64 detector spiral CT angiography in the diagnosis of abdominal aortic aneurysm. Method Ten patients were studied with 64 detector spiral CT angiography. The time of delayed scan was 20-25s.The volume data was transferred to AW4.3 workstation for imaging post-processing including VR, MPR, MIP. Results The 64 detector CTA can reveal quickly and clearly the abdominal aortic aneurysm, the calcification of aortic wall and the mural thrombosis. The relationships between the lesions and surrounding structures were displayed completely and clearly using CTA with various reconstruction techniques. In the 10 cases, there ware 2 patients with true abdominal aneurysm , 3 patients with pseudoaneurysm , 5 patients with dissecting aneurysm, 7 patients with mural thrombosis, all of the 10 patients were with the calcification of aortic wall. Conclusion The 64 detector spiral CTA is a quick, non-invasive and safe method in the diagnosis of abdominal aortic aneurysm. It can supply valuable information for clinical therapy.
