Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of spiral CT angiography (SCTA) in the assessment of abdominal aortic aneurysm. Methods: Spiral CT of the abdominal aortic aneurysm was performed in 30 cases. Different axial reconstructed images were used to create maximum intensity projection (MIP) and shaded surface display(SSD). Results: In 30 cases, the extent of aneurysm and the relationship between aneurysm and arterial branches were definitely showed by SSD, the calcification of aneurysm and exact measurement of each part of lumen were better depicted by MIP. Conclusion: The technique of spiral CT angiography is simple and safe. SCTA is helpful in diagnosis and guiding surgery of abdominal aortic aneurysm.
