Abstract

Objective To discuss the clinical efficacy of transsphenoidal approach for microsurgery pituitary adenoma. Methods Retrospective analysis of 120 cases treated by transsphenoidal approach on microsurgery pituitary adenoma.Relationship between size of tumors, endocrine type, tumor excision scope with clinical efficacy were analyzed. Results Cure rate of microadenoma(89.8%) was higher than macroadenoma and huge adenomas(P 0.01).Cure rate of GH adenoma(78.1%),ACTH adenoma(83.3%),mixed tumor of adenoma(80.0%) were higher than nonfunctioning adrenal adenoma(P 0.05).Cure rate of full-cut and subtotal resection(81.1%,50.0%) were higher than merotomy(P 0.05).Conclusion Clinical efficacy of transsphenoidal approach for microsurgery on pituitary adenoma relates to size of tu mors, endocrine type, tumor excision scope.
