Abstract
The Qianmutian tungsten-beryllium deposit is the largest W-Be deposit discovered in Zhejiang province, which is associated with the Shunxi granite. The published ages of the granite are messy. We analyzed the zircons from 2 pieces of fresh granite samples from the Qianmutian Tungsten-beryllium deposit using LA-ICP-MS method. The weighted average 206Pb/238U ages for zircons from the two samples are 125.5±1.1 Ma and 123.5±2.3 Ma,respectively, suggesting the granite was formed in the early stage of late Yenshanian Period(early Cretaceous).Combined with the new advance of geological prospecting in the peripheral areas, western Zhejiang-northeastern Jiangxi-southern Anhui may well be considered as a new area for W-deposit prospecting.
