Abstract

Bursaphelenchus xylophilus transmission mainly depended on its vector insect Monochamus alternatus and invaded the host trees through wounds caused by the vector beetle maturation feeding and oviposition.Elucidation of the transmission mechanism of the nematode from one host tree to another was helpful to fully understand the pathogenesis and epidemic of pine wilt disease.The latest progress in the relationgship between the Bursaphelenchus xylophilus and its insect vectors was reviewed.
