Abstract

[Objective]To investigate the clinical effect of comprehensive treatment on neonatal dacryocystitis.[Methods]104 cases of children with neonatal dacryocystitis diagnosed in our hospital from October 2008 to July 2009,a total of 124 eyes.Used the compression massage of the lacrimal sac, lacrimal irrigation, the comprehensive lacrimal treatment, observed the effects and complications.[Results]30 eyes were unobstructed by squeezing and massage the lacrimal sac,23 eyes were cured by the lacrimal pressure washing,66 eyes were cured by probing of lacrimal passage, the overall cure rate was 96.0%;of 71 eyes,61 ones got treated successfully by probing for the first time, and 8 eyes for the second time.2 eyes got treated successfully by the three-round exploration. In this group, children does not show choking, suffocation, and canalicular tear, etc.Only 1 eye in1 patient had false passage when probing, but got cured after the lacrimal passage rebuiding.Another patient bled a little after needle injection, and stop bleeding in a few minutes.[Conclusion]The combination therapy is safe and effective for neonatal dacryocystitis, more suitable for clinical application.
