Abstract

Objective To explore the causes and nursing interventions of trachea re-intubation for postoperative patients with cardiac surgery.Method Clinical data of 12 cases of postoperative patients with cardiac surgery undergoing trachea re-intubation from July,2003 to February,2008 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Five cases died with the fatality rate of 41.67%.Acute left ventricular failure, low cardiac output syndrome, respiratory failure were the main causes of tachea re-intubation for postoperative patients with cardiac surgery. Conclusion Prompt trachea re-intubation is one of the key factors in prognosis.Correct assessment, monitoring on patients at high risk, paying attention to indications of extubation and postoperative pain, and prventing emergency accidents can effectively reduce trachea re-intubation and fatality rate,as well as improve the recovery of patients.
