Abstract
Zhang Ai-ling's personality and writings are a bright color in China's literary arena of the 1940s--the 1950s.She proudly travels between literature and imagery?popularity and gracefulness ?convention and vulgarity She has left her practice of creation and Legend,etc.to Shanghai and to the year 1943.The name of her Legend should have been recorded in the history of modern literature without any hesitation in 1943 This paper tries to use the Legend as the main thread and reflect Zhang Ai-ling's course of psychological activities and vital contributions to China's literary arena Simultaneously the paper seeks to reveal the greater legend which underlies the Legend
