Abstract

In order to promote energy-saving and emission reduction for Chinese iron and steel industry, study was made to the status of Chinese iron and steel industry by using comparative analysis with the developed countries. Some conclusions can be summarized as follows. The energy consumption of iron and steel industry is about 18 % of overall energy consumption in China.Comprehensive energy consumption per ton steel is 629.93 kgce, and the energy consumption index of Chinese key enterprises is close to advanced countries.CO2 emission of Chinese iron and steel industry is 51 % of the world steel industry. There is a large space for the development and application of energy saving technologies.Research proposes that it is necessary to increase the proportion of EAF steelmaking and adopt CDQ,TRT and other technologies,so as to accelerate the development and application of clean energy technologies of metallurgical industry.
