Investigation and analysis of prophylactic antibiotics for patients undergoing intervention surgery

OBJECTIVE To investigate the perioperative use of antibiotics in patients undergoing intervention surgery,and analyze the existing problems.METHODS Retrospective analysis was performed to investigate the use of perioperative antibiotics in patients undergoing intervention surgery in Mar 2011.RESULTS Totally 164(82.8%) patients from 198 cases of intervention surgery used antibiotics during perioperative period,including 160 cases(97.6%) for one-drug use,and 4 cases(2.4%) for two-drug;the medication time ranged from 0 to 14 days,the top average time was 3.02 days;the top five antibiotics applied were: cefonicid,cefmetazole,cefamandole,penicillin,ceftezole;8 cases used antibiotics 2h before operation(4.9%),156 cases(95.1%) after operation.CONCLUSION There are many problems existing in the use of perioperative antibiotics in patients undergoing intervention surgery,such as high percent of antibiotics usage,long administration time,unreasonable administration chance.Enhancing the training and stressing on the intervention are important to improve the rational use of antibiotics.
