Abstract
This paper calculates the ecological footprints of Gansu Province in 2004 by the method of ecological footprint, with the results as follows: per capita ecological footprints is 2.4095hm2 and per capita ecological deficit is 1.066hm2 in 2004.Also,the paper,by comparing the above results with the ecological footprints of Gansu Province in1998,condudes that there is more and more ecological deficit in Gansu Province, and Gansu Province is always in unsustainable development. The main cause of ecological deficit is too fast population growth, unreasonable ultilization of the enlargement of the strength of land ultilization.
