The calculation and analysis of ecological footprint of Gansu Province in 2006

The ecological footprint model was applied to calculate and analyze the ecological footprint of Gansu Province in 2006.The result showed the supply per capita of ecological footprint was less than it′s demand,the ecological deficit per capita was 0.85 hm2.The result was analyzed by the index of ecological coordination coefficient,which showed the development of Gansu Province was in a state of ecological incoordination,natural stock was made up for a shortage of ecological capacity.Compared with ecological footprints of the province in past sixteen years,we found the supply of ecological footprint had been a change in the opposite direction comparing with it′s demand since 1998,ecological deficit was increasing year after year,it was 0.85 in 2006.The results also indicated that the regional ecological and economic system of Gansu Province went beyond threshold of ecological capacity,it′s fragile ecological conditions wasn′t fundamentally improved,Gansu Province was still in a regional unsustainable development situation.
