On Hu Shi's Language Logic of "Chinese Poetic Revolution"

Abstract
The main problem of the Chinese poetic revolution proposed by Hu Shi is of language.It aims at promoting the process of enlightenment during the May Fourth Movement in 1919.However,the classical poetry is imbued with old ideas and morals,which can not meet the demands of the modern times. Therefore,it must find a new type of language expressions.Hu Shi recommended the colloquial language; however,his advocacy was not an easy matter but a logical development.From the mainstream language to the ordinary language,being easier to understand is the aesthetical standard of colloquial poetry.
